The suspension of a dedicated, committed and honest IPS officer Jasveer Singh of Uttar Pradesh cadre, is a clear sign of suspension of democratic ethics. To raise voice against the unruly ‘rule’ of governance, is maliciously interpreted today. To keep mum is consent to the misdeeds of the ruling politicians and the politicians who are fighting to rule. The suspension of an IPS officer was a serious subject of discussion today at ‘India Watch’. We are the journalists who always fight for the real democracy, not hypocrisy. उत्तर प्रदेश कैडर के चरित्रवान, प्रतिबद्ध और कर्तव्यपरायण आईपीएस अधिकारी जसवीर सिंह का निलंबन लोकतांत्रिक नैतिकता के निलंबन का स्पष्ट संदेश है। अशासकीय ‘शासन’ के खिलाफ आवाज उठाने को आज शातिराना तरीके से व्याख्यायित किया जा रहा है। मुंह बंद रखना और चुप्पी साध लेना सत्ताधारी राजनीतिकों और सत्ता के लिए जूझ रहे राजनीतिकों के कुकृत्यों के प्रति हामी भरने जैसा है। आईपीएस अधिकारी जसवीर सिंह का निलंबन एक गंभीर प्रकरण है। इस विषय पर ‘इंडिया वाच’ ने विचार-विमर्श आयोजित किया। हमारा पत्रकारीय दायित्व है कि हम वास्तविक लोकतंत्र के लिए लड़ें, छद्म-लोकतंत्र और आडंबरवाद के लिए नहीं... कृपया आप भी इस विचार-गोष्ठी को सुनें, शरीक हों और उनके साथ खड़े हों जो लोकतंत्र को सतर्क, जीवित और जीवंत रखने के लिए हमेशा एक सांकेतिक प्रतिरोध खड़ा करने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध हैं।
